Child Neurology

Spectrum Health Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital offers training dedicated to all aspects of child neurology, including a rich clinical and research experience.

Diagnostic Radiology

Diagnostic Radiology Residency offers a robust training experience with a case volume to trainee ratio among the top in the nation.

Emergency Medicine

The emergency medicine residency at Spectrum Health follows a PGY 1-3 format, accepting ten residents annually.

Family Medicine

The family medicine residency program is a three-year program with six positions available each year. As part of their training our residents work in both urban and rural hospitals and outpatient clinics.

General Surgery

A five-year program carefully planned to provide early operative experience with progressive responsibility in all areas of general surgery including endoscopy, critical care and trauma.

Internal Medicine

Internal Medicine Residency program is a three-year program accepting 15 positions per year.

Internal Medicine/Pediatrics

Residency program is designed to prepare you for a career either as a primary care physician or to provide you with a foundation for subspecialty training.

Interventional Radiology

Residency is a six-year program providing comprehensive diagnostic and interventional educational experiences in all areas of radiology.

Neurological Surgery

We are committed to producing highly qualified neurosurgeons with the confidence to undertake their craft of clinical decision-making and surgical expertise with distinction.


Residency program offers a variety of inpatient and outpatient experiences, preparing them well to go on to fellowship opportunities or general neurology practice.

Obstetrics and Gynecology

Residency provides in-depth training in maternal fetal medicine, reproductive endocrinology, urogynecology and gynecologic oncology.

Orthopaedic Surgery

The orthopaedic surgery residency at Spectrum Health focuses on the purposeful development of surgical skills.


Nationally ranked in eight pediatric sub-specialties by U.S. News and World Report and offer a complete educational and clinical experience in our state-of-the-art, free-standing, children’s hospital.

Plastic Surgery

Residency program offers an environment of collegiality with rigorous academic pursuit and a demand for excellence of all our residents.

Transitional Year

Residency is a one-year training experience that allows resident physicians to fulfill the clinical prerequisite for specialty training.

Vascular Surgery

Residency is a five year ACGME accredited residency program designed to train medical students who desire to become board-certified vascular surgeons.
