Endometriosis
Endometriosis, or “endo,” happens with tissue similar to endometrium—the tissue inside the uterus—grows outside your uterus.
Fibroids
Fibroids are noncancerous growths in or on the uterine wall. They’re very common.
Heart Disease
Heart disease is widespread in women. More women die from heart attacks every year than men. Heart disease is the No. 1 killer of women in the U.S.
Hot Flashes
A hot flash is the sudden sensation of heat in the face, neck and chest—and occasionally throughout the rest of the body.
Incontinence

Most women complete the menopause transition within four years—though for some it may take as little as two years and for others, eight years or longer.
Night Sweats
A night sweat is essentially a hot flash you have during sleep. Night sweats are one of the most common symptoms of perimenopause.
Osteoporosis
Osteoporosis makes bones weak and more likely to break. As many as one in three women older than 50 may experience an osteoporosis-related fracture.
Overactive Bladder
Routinely using the bathroom eight or more times a day and more than once at night can be a sign of overactive bladder.
Painful Periods
Painful periods, including severe cramping, affect approximately half of all menstruating women.
Painful Sex
About 20% to 50% of U.S. women experience symptoms in the vulva or vaginal area sometime during menopause.
Pelvic Organ Prolapse
Pelvic organ prolapse happens when the muscles in your pelvis weaken, letting the bladder, urethra, uterus or rectum slip down into the vagina.
Weight Gain
About two-thirds of women ages 40 to 59 and nearly three-quarters of women older than 60 are overweight. Being overweight increases the risk for many health problems.
