Bone Cancer

Orthopedic Oncology (Bone Cancer)

Orthopedic oncologists specialize in the treatment of bone and soft-tissue tumors that involve the musculoskeletal system. Orthopedic oncology is a highly specialized field. In fact, there are fewer than 200 orthopedic oncologists practicing in the United States.

Spectrum Health Medical Group employs two orthopedic oncologists, Joel M. Post, DO, and Matthew Steensma, MD. Dr. Post completed his musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, and Dr. Steensma completed his musculoskeletal oncology fellowship at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

The Spectrum Health Cancer Center has a dedicated team of bone, sarcoma and connective tissue cancer specialists who stand ready to diagnose and treat patients using a multidisciplinary team approach. Our goal is to provide patients with the most advanced therapies, as well as practical and emotional support that will guide them through every aspect of their cancer journey.
